A mariner with an expired medical certificate is not legal to stand a watch. X3 Crew tracks every credential for every person and checks a crew against the manning your COI requires.

The Exposure

One Expired Card Can Hold a Boat at the Dock.

Credentials expire on different dates. A medical certificate for STCW service runs two years; for other mariners up to five (46 CFR 10.301). An MMC is not valid for use after its expiration date, grace period or not (46 CFR 10.227(h)). Crew change happens at night, by phone, with a copy of a card.

The person on watch has to be legal to be on watch. X3 puts it on the clock.
